Jean Beadle (1867-1942), was a tireless advocate for women and children’s rights. As the founder of Labor Women’s Organisations in Fremantle and the Eastern Goldfields, one of Western Australia’s first female Justices of the Peace, a voluntary Children’s Court Magistrate and a keen writer and orator, Mrs Beadle played a prominent role in state politics throughout the late-nineteenth and early-twentieth centuries.
